Shannon Cummings
Shannon the Bee, formally known as Shannon Cummings, is an illustrator, designer, wildlife artist, scientific illustrator and hand letterer who was inspired from an early age by nature and animals, consequently forming a profound interest and passion in environmental research and preservation.
She received formal training at the Savannah College of Art & Design (SCAD) in Savannah, Georgia, USA, earning a B.F.A. in Illustration with two minors in Scientific Illustration & Creative Writing. Outside of SCAD and her self-initiated editorial illustrations, Shannon’s contribution to Mote Marine’s the Teeth Beneath exhibit is among her most notable work.
Currently, Shannon lives in Lake Placid, Florida, USA working as a middle school art teacher by day and grad-student/freelance illustrator by night.
