Xuni Gong
Xuni Gong is a freelance illustrator who loves traditional Oriental culture. Traditional Chinese painting and Japanese Ukiyo-e art are among her main influences.
She uses a range of analogue and digital techniques when creating her art. She employs traditional hand painting tools to make the lines of her illustrations and then uses Adobe Photoshop to add her distinctive unsaturated colour.
Her academic qualifications include two degrees in art and design. She obtained a bachelor’s degree in oil painting from Sichuan Fine Art Institution, China and also holds a master’s degree in illustration from the Savannah College of Art and Design, USA.
Following her graduation from SCAD she founded her illustration practice in Chongqing, China. Her clients in the last year include Robarts Spaces, Starbucks, Taobao, Science Fiction World magazine and more.
