Kseniia Smirnova
Ksenia Smirnova is a graphic designer, illustrator and founder of 1503 Design, a studio of visual communication. Originally from Russia, she currently resides in Milan, Italy. Her academic qualifications include studies in the theory of economics in Saint-Petersburg, Russia and graphic design at the Pratt Institute, New York.
Her greatest passions and inspirations are complex creative solutions and horseriding. She uses watercolour or oils to create her beautiful illustrations. Ksenia says, “I like thinking of my work as scenic decorations, tailor-made for the clients’ needs. I love the expressive nature of the material I work with, and it is reflected in most of my illustration works.”
A notable project of Ksenia’s was a brief to produce 500 plates with original illustrations for her client Il Riccio, a restaurant with two Michelin stars, located in Capri, Italy.
