Marta Roca

Marta Roca was born in the Canary Islands in 1984. She resides there today and works as freelance illustrator and tattooist.

After completing a degree in fine arts at La Laguna University, Tenerife. Marta studied illustration and printing in both Valencia and Madrid.

Marta previously ran her own art centre, Hueco Espacio de Arte, where she taught a variety of creative workshops. She also held numerous exhibitions there. The space also doubled as a retail point for selling her art, prints and serigraphy. Marta states of her work and process that, “it is developed intuitively, mixing linear work with collage and digital techniques. My preferred mediums are ink, pencil and serigraphy.”

Her artistic influences come from different disciplines of illustration, photography, design and textile design.

When Marta isn’t creating in her studio, she is travelling and taking ideas from different cultures and cities to incorporate into her work.
