Rafal Gawlik

 
 

Rafał Gawlik is a painter of Polish descent living in Cracow. He describes his art as ‘‘shapeless abstractionism, reminiscent of the paintings of Tashism.” He creates his work using oil paint on canvas. Gawlik is mainly inspired by Polish painters, such as Stanisław Wyspiański and Tadeusz Kantor. He studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Cracow, focussing on digital imaging as an undergraduate and painting for his master’s course.

He has been exhibiting since 2013 and has participated in numerous group and individual exhibitions in Poland, the United States and Switzerland.
