Aywee Koteleky

Aywee Kőteleky is an artist and illustrator who currently resides in her hometown of Budapest, Hungary.

Her academic background includes two diplomas in communications and business communications. 

While studying, she began her freelance practice and following graduation, she focussed on following her passion and succeeding in the creative industries as an art director.

She creates the majority of her work with a combination of analogue and digital techniques, though also occasionally also paints on canvas with acrylic. Her work is characterised by depictions of rough and angular faces, which on first glance seem to just stare into the distance, but on careful inspection, they show subtle signs of emotions in their eyes. 

Describing her practice and influences, Aywee says, “My works are usually very colourful and tend to involve strange, vaguely humanoid creatures with large eyes. They are, in a sense, caricatures of both the world and themselves.’’
