Dora Knuteson is an American fine artist working in Naples, Florida. She graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Parkside with a Bachelor of Arts degree. Alongside her personal and commercial paintings, Dora is also available for custom commissions.

“I moved to Florida after spending over a decade as a Midwestern graphic designer. Inspired by the vibrant colours and sunshine, I found the courage to pursue an art career.

Much of my work is a product of my beachy surroundings. I aim to share my delight in the world around me by telling a story with colour and pattern — to let go of perfection and find a unique balance between realistic representation and funky abstraction.

I will occasionally experiment with different mediums, but I am most often drawn to acrylics. The fast drying time allows me to freely explore my subject by building quick layers, leaving just enough complexity that the viewer feels curious to take a closer look.”
