José Luis Ramírez
José Luis Ramírez is an artist who is inspired by the constant changes in the contemporary landscape around him. He aims to create bridges between reality and fiction through his art, which he describes as “funny, questioning and transgressive.”
José was born in the city of Durango, Mexico and graduated from the School of Painting, Sculpture and Crafts at the Juarez University of the State of Durango. He was commissioned to create three murals in his native Mexico ‘Historical Mexican Landscape’ and ‘José Ignacio Caballero ‘New Earth’ both of which can be seen in the Public Central Library. His piece, ‘Time, Shadow and Shelter’ is featured in the Central building of his alter mater, UJED.
José’s work has been exhibited in numerous countries with more than 60 individual and collective exhibitions, several of them featured in Galería Arte Actual Mexicano.
