Sophie Banh
Drawing from feminine inspirations and child-like illustrative methods, textile and graphic designer Sophie Banh creates her work with a delicate hand and often uses natural, organic elements for inspiration.
She obtained her bachelor’s degree in both communication and textile design from RMIT. Her work is a blend of digital and traditional methods. She is proficient in Adobe Photoshop and Indesign, yet prefers to work with gouache, ink, masking fluid, brush pen, and watercolour paper.
She is inspired by the works of artists Maria Ines Ghul and Louise Reimer, and appreciates their “quirky, child-like illustration styles that are reminiscent of a different time period.”
Her most noteworthy project was album artwork produced for Lisa Michell, a folk singer based in Melbourne, Australia where Sophie also currently resides.
