Valentina Figueroa

Valentina Figueroa was born and raised in the central coast town of La Guaira, Venezuela. Growing up in a country under constant socio-political turmoil, she has translated pain, sense of loss and her experiences of personal self-discovery in a society that often demands more than what it gives back. Her work reflects her explorations and experiences in Western society, linking it with her deep appreciation for her cultural and indigenous heritage. A sense of independence and belief motivates her work, which is inspired by feelings of love and journeys of mental health, femininity and sexual liberation. She graduated with a BA in Graphic Design at the Caracas Design Institute in 2012 and in 2014 moved to Berlin to study communication design.
