Bas Bongers (Babo)
Silvolde, Netherlands based painter, Bas Bongers (aka Babo), takes inspiration from painters such as Jackson Pollock and Gerhard Richter. Blending these styles, together with some ‘Babo-sauce’, he creates stunning and colourful works. As an autodidact, on his way to discover his identity in the world of painters, he found himself to be an action painting-fanatic. His work is vibrant, colourful and dynamic. Colours are crucial to his work, even though he sometimes paints in black and white. Acrylic on canvas is his preferred media.
