Kerstin Sokoll
German artist Kerstin Sokoll began her career as an event designer. She uncovered her path to art along the way and now lives in Karlsruhe, Germany where she works with her agency Sokoll & Friends. At the centre of her artistic work is the emotional, creative process. Vivid colour and energetic design create images that touch people at a deeper level. Her works are an expression of explosive determination and deeply layered calculation.
Kerstin has actively worked from 1993 to the present date designing a multitude of impressive and emotionally moving event space installations. She primarily uses traditional painting materials such as acrylic on canvas, which she transforms into two-dimensional sculptures through a multi-layered, mixed-media technique.
The cellular surface structure of her work plays a unique role in the overarching result, creating a beguiling world that is reminiscent of the culminating essences found in underwater oases, exotic landscapes and oscillating galaxies.
