Originally from Flanders, her passion for drawing and painting began very early, always in search of the ‘better’, the artist could draw for hours and always end up tearing her works.

Monet fascinates her, the lights, the charisma and the simplicity of the paintings. The simplicity of the execution is the real definition of perfection for the artist. Stéphanie began her artistic quest to create her own perfect simplicity.

By continuing to appropriate her vision and technique, Stephanie starts her life abroad and it is here that begins a new stage in her artistic approach. New countries, new cultures, new artists, Stéphanie’s life changes and stimulates her creativity and the vision of her art. In 2003, the artist visits India for the first time, the mixture of bright colours, the mix of cultures, the warmth of the country upset and fascinate at the same time. During this trip, the artist is passionate about a painter from Tamil Nadu and decides to take drawing and painting classes in his institute. This learning will become a pillar for her current works.

Stéphanie continues her travels in the United States, South Korea, Cambodia, Malaysia ... many discoveries and experiences that enrich and inspire her. Though an expatriate in Asia, it is during a stay in Paris that her work will begin. She discovers painting with knives and it is a revelation! This instrument, so crude and simple, allows her to paint with precision while keeping a part of the mystery in her paintings. It is the mixture of authenticity in the tool, of modernity in the gesture, of perfection in the noise and the blur of the movement which seduces the artist so much.
