Jason Malmberg

Based out of Sacramento, CA, self-taught graphic designer Jason Malmberg for the past 20 years has created works based on a wide range of inspirations, “from 18th-century ornament to 80s crisp minimalism to 70s sci-fi lushness and all points in between”.

Using digital methods to create, he is proficient in the Adobe Creative Suite, and other programs such as Sketch and Fontographer. His skills include collage, photography, and illustration, with a heavy emphasis on colour and typography.

“I have a constantly expanding vocabulary and a restless brain that doesn’t like staying too long in the same territory. An artist should have eras, and hopefully, I do.”

He has worked on a variety of projects, his work under the name “Decabet” is exclusively reserved for music-related projects such as designing gig posters, record covers, party flyers and branding for several large music festivals.

Noteworthy bands he’s worked with are Metallica, Kings of Leon, Foo Fighters and Walk the Moon.
