Luis Alvarez

Luis Alvarez is a freelance visualiser and illustrator currently based in Barcelona, Spain.

Since 1986, he has worked with leading design and branding agencies worldwide on advertising, packaging, and editorial illustration projects.

He recently founded a personal project consisting of an online gallery that depicts images connected to his travels and his observations of the lifestyles of people around the world. This collection of images acts as a digital travel picture book and represents the intimate feeling of discovering a new place. “It’s process of creation is quite simple: to live like locals and to observe until I find that magic moment when something emerges and can be fixed in a picture.”

In his work, Luis takes his time to perfect his images. He draws many details without synthesis and works to bring those pieces together. He is inspired by ideas that are larger than life and is fascinated with movies, Pop art and Japanese art.
