Sara Jabbari

Sara Jabbari is an illustrator and graphic designer who describes herself as “an imperfect perfectionist.” Her life revolves around design with a style that directly reflects her vibrant personality, architectural influence from places she’s lived, and patterns inspired by her Iranian background.

Born and raised in Los Angeles, Sara decided to flip coasts and venture East to study Illustration and Graphic Design at the Maryland Institute College of Art (MICA) in Baltimore. She continues her professional design career in New York City where she gets to flex her illustration, typography, branding, and screen printing muscles. The bulk of Sara’s time is spent on working full time as a graphic designer for a wellness events company as well as some independent and freelance projects for brands, musicians and special events.

Sara dedicates part of her life to her pin brand Glitch Bitch: the rebellious, derpy brainchild of two creatives from New York and London. What started as an ordinary visit to the Bushwick Open Studio in NYC, ignited the spark that fueled the flame for this artistic explosion. Just a dash of derp, two-parts sass, and an overall f*ck-the-man mentality is all it took to bring this pin-deavor to life.

Sara believes beauty lies in the details. She establishes levels of hierarchy in all of her work and uses various dimensions and intentional layers to direct the eye to what she wants to be seen and in what order. Her artistic goal is to invoke a feeling of curiosity and inspire you to look past the surface level and dive deeper into the details. Finding true originality in the present day is difficult, which is why she often challenges herself to combine unconventional styles that bring a new twist and flavour to recognisable images and graphic elements.

As for the future, Sara intends to further cultivate new adventures for Glitch Bitch and expand to new mediums such as shirts and hats. She hopes to start someday her own branding creative agency where she can introduce her unique style and fresh perspective to the masses.
