Megan Bishop
Megan Bishop was born and raised in San Rafael, California. From a young age, she was enthralled with the arts and sciences and spent hours drawing animals using her favourite live models, beanie babies.
As a teen, she obsessed over Henry Van Carter’s medical illustrations and has more recently been influenced by artists such as Chris Van Allsburg, Jim Stitt and Lionel Lindsay.
Megan received a degree in botany from the Humboldt State University and a certificate degree in science illustration from CSU Monterey.
She currently works as a temporary illustrator at the Cornell Lab of Ornithology. Megan wants her work to encourage scientific exploration within the public sphere.
If not drawing, she can be found hiking around a forest looking for lichens and bryophytes.
