Matias Kamula
Matias Kamula is a 3D generalist, graphic designer and instructor who cites Salvador Dali as one of his influences. He describes his work as diverse and enjoys challenging himself by working with a range of traditional media.
His portfolio contains work rendered in acrylic paint, pencil and ink, as well as digital tools including Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, 3DS Max, and Zbrush.
He was born in Canada and studied in the United States where he earned a scholarship to attend the Art Institute of Pittsburgh to study 3D animation.
After graduation, he moved to Finland and worked for Remedy Entertainment on the ‘Max Payne’ video game.
Matias has also taught at institutions in Canada and Denmark, where he has lectured on computer game development, including leading a game art program teaching 2D and 3D game art creation.
He currently lives in Canada and teaches in a game art program. He continues to follow his passion for teaching and continues to develop his skills and abilities in traditional and digital art.
